Meet The Leaders

Dr. Kumar Vadaparty graduated with a B.E. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Andhra University, completed his M.Tech. in computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and worked in CMC R&D labs, Hyderabad. He switched careers, went to the United States of America, and finished his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Rutgers University, NJ. He then worked as a Professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and later as a researcher at Bell Communication Research Labs in NJ. He reinvented his career again, working at Wall Street companies for the last 25 years: first with Merrill Lynch, then Bank of America, then UBS, and now at Morgan Stanley in NY. He re- engineered trading systems in these companies from legacy systems into high-performing modernized architectures. In the last three years, he has researched AI, ML, and Generative AI and innovated products that automate modernization, language transformation, and productivity improvement across multiple divisions. Dr. Kumar Vadaparty published dozens of peer-reviewed research papers, book chapters, and journal columns. During his expansive career, he was a chair faculty member, the recipient of the National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award, and won many international awards in the banking industry. Dr. Kumar Vadaparty holds more than 15 United States Patents and gave the first global BECKN volunteer presentation. He pursues many projects outside his work: teaching physics to high-school children using microprocessors, teaching coding to under-served communities, teaching and learning Generative AI, contributing to the work of the BECKN foundation, learning Sanskrit Grammar, and writing Telugu poems.
